It's nice the way you create a visual and poetic vocabulary for yourself. Shadow Puppets caught in a Cat's Cradle ... these are very compelling images.

Are you thinking about performance art? Even a modest strip of photos like this seems to suggest a story, a dance, a drama, an action.

well I was not thinking about performance art....but it is a good idea to look into it...maybe i can enhance my "vocabulary" :D

Well, you've really got a scheme for performance art right now. I probably wouldn't have brought it up if you work didn't have an appropriate structure already. Simply concentrating on the action within a series of photos can be a kind of performance art.

I did some performance pieces in graduate school and they were always presented as videos. I did the performance action privately, but the video document was my presentation of the work.

You are already creating a unique and complex situation in the making of these images. It is more a matter of emphasis. You seem to be creating an action in order to generate images. All that I am saying is that you might make the action a priority and use the images to present/document the performance. This might already be an intention of yours. Perhaps you move between these motives without much concern. But you might enjoy being more deliberate about these distinctions.

I do want to say again that this is wonderful work that you're doing. It is very rich and evolving in a sensible and exciting way. I don't usually have so much to say about another artist's work. Please consider this an appreciation! :rose:

wow, many thanks Frank, for your indepth commentary!
I have to say that I work very intuitively and often without a concept...I allow myself to let "it" out (whatever "it" stands for...)

but I see what you mean about performance / action and images....

thank you so much again

We have assessed the enemy, and determined they are vulnerable.

Re: Monsieur twingo above, I agree, save for the fearful...surprise maybe, followed by analysis, followed by tactical determination, then enactment.

At least that's what I think....Course I don't know nothin' much about stuff like that. What I mean to say is art and so forth and so on.
